Description
The Illinois Association of Community College Agriculture Instructors would like to invite you to participate in the 42nd Annual Agriculture Articulation Conference and ICAE/ILCAE Symposium, “Building Bridges for Career Pathways”. Once again, the IACCAI organization is partnering with the Illinois Committee for Agricultural Education (ICAE) and Illinois Leadership Council for Agricultural Education (ILCAE) to host the annual Conference and Symposium. The Articulation Conference offers IACCAI members and four-year university instructors the opportunity to review articulated agriculture course syllabi, share classroom/laboratory experiences, and discuss current agricultural education trends—all with the goal of ensuring the seamless transition for students from the community college to the four-year university. We ask that you please share this invitation with members of your college’s Advisory Committees and Department Deans/Chairs. We are inviting these individuals to be a part of the Vision for Illinois Agriculture Sessions. VIA is a broad coalition of stakeholders who want to ensure that Illinois agriculture has the skills and workforce to be a global agricultural leader. Agriculture is evolving in a global economy. How is Agricultural Education evolving to meet the challenges? How can we attract, educate, and retain the necessary human capital to support the initiatives aimed at growing the agriculture and food industries in Illinois? The VIA sessions are to help shape the Vision while helping to identify concrete strategies to achieve that vision: o What research questions need to be answered to chart the future of Agriculture and Agricultural Education? o What partnerships need to be formed? o What are the largest obstacles to the advancement of Agricultural Education? We feel it is essential that industry representatives from your advisory committees, college administrators, and government representatives discuss how agricultural education at ALL levels can help achieve this vision! We encourage that these individuals stay for the dinner and evening panel, Agriculture Education Leaders - “Attracting Talent to State’s Food & Agriculture Sector”. Our goal is to have some of these individuals serve on the panel as well, so please let us know of individuals from your college or local advisory committee who may like to serve on the panel. You will find the agenda and registration form attached to this message. If you have any questions, please contact Sara Pohl, IACCAI President at (815) 825-2086, Ext. 296 sarapohl@kishwaukeecollege.edu or Mariah Dale-Anderson at (217) 753-3328. Thank you and we hope to see you in April!!!
